A significant international scientific recognition for Georgios Zontos, MD, MSc, PhD, FISHRS.
His article, “Non-Shaven Follicular Unit Excision (NS-FUE): Technical Refinements, Clinical Outcomes, and Comparison with Conventional and Long Hair FUE,” has been selected for the 2026 O’Tar Norwood Best Forum Article Award, the annual award recognizing the best article published in Hair Transplant Forum International, the scientific publication of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS).
The recognition is particularly meaningful to Dr. Zontos, as it concerns Non-Shaven FUE, a technique he has worked on and refined over many years, with the aim of providing a more discreet approach to hair transplantation without requiring shaving of the donor area.
The award represents international recognition of scientific work originating in Greece and of Dr. Zontos’ contribution to the advancement of modern hair restoration surgery.
The award will be presented during the 34th ISHRS World Congress in Rio de Janeiro in October 2026.
